Things to do in gulf shores on New Years eve

The house is now cleaned, the wrapping and ribbons have been picked up and many of us are returning to work. But don't forget that the end of the year is near and we need to make sure we have made plans with our "real" friends. This is the day we go out with those who have your back all year-long. So have you made your plans yet?

Take a look at all the great events happening along the coast to make your New Year's Eve special. Many will sell out early so make sure and book your ticket or reservation early. Make sure to book your Uber, Taxi or designated driver when you make your plans.

TACKY JACKS GULF SHORES - New Year's Eve celebration with live music from Top Hat & Jackie, heavy hors d' oeuvres, drink specials, party favors, prizes, a balloon drop, and a Bushwacker toast. It all starts at 6 pm New Year's Eve! $50 per person. RSVP Required. Call 251-948-8881 to register.


FLORA-BAMA NEW YEAR'S EVE BASH - Live music on all three stages will be rockin’ until the party stops. THE WHARF - It is an ALL-DAY event at the Wharf! Starting with a Kids Confetti Drop presented by Beachball Properties. Kids whose bedtime comes well before midnight will get to ring in the New Year hours early with a rock wall, bouncy house, face painting ($10), camel rides ($10), toxic slime battle zone, surf simulator, stilt walker, balloon artist + so much more. The confetti cannons will be going off at noon. THEN, Reelin’ in the New Year Street Party presented by Pepsi. Let’s bid adieu to 2023 in the grandest of style with live bands, family friendly activities AND adult-centered fun all rounding off at midnight with The Park Band, the marlin drop and a fireworks finale presented by White Claw!

The Annual Fort Morgan Oyster Fest is set to take place this weekend, February 22nd & 23rd at The Beach Club Resort & Spa. The event features all-you-can-eat oysters, live music, craft vendors, and various activities for attendees; including a larger kids area. This year's festival features several improvements, including daily ticket caps to control crowds and prevent long lines.

After 15 years of dedicated service, Gulf Shores Police Chief Ed Delmore has announced his retirement. Mayor Robert Craft informed the city council of Chief Delmore’s intent during a meeting this week. While he will no longer be heading the police department, Chief Delmore will stay on the force as a special investigator until the end of his term, which ends in November.

Alabama's 14th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is set for Friday, February 21, through Sunday, February 23, 2025. During this period, residents can purchase essential severe weather preparedness items without paying the state's 4% sales tax. In some areas, local taxes will also be waived, allowing shoppers to save up to 10% on eligible items.
