Dolphins Are Now 8-0 After Defeating Elberta

News Staff • October 14, 2023

The entire team contributed in win: Defense, Offense, Special Teams

gulf shores sports news

Everyone knew that this game would not be in doubt for the Dolphins so the main focus was going to be how Coach Hudspeth used this game as a "teachable" moment. He did not disappoint and many of the players were allowed valuable game time.

The game started slow in the first quarter but in the second team leaders began showing why they are starters. Ronnie Royal, Kolin Wilson and Jud Harris provided their leadership to jump out against Elberta. While Otto Brewer and the defense powered their way into Elberta's backfield and kept the pressure up all night. Special Teams contributed with a punt return for a touchdown.

In the 3rd quarter Jamichael Garrett made an interception and returned it for a touchdown. This was when you could see that the bench strength of Gulf Shores was too much for the Elberta Warriors. During the last half of the game the Dolphins just appeared faster and sharper than their competitors.

The final score of 55-7 doesn't give Elberta the credit they deserved for battling hard in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Now the Gulf Shores Dolphin are 8-0 for the season! They have two games remaining which will both be played at home.
