There was an incident at Foley High School that called for the school to be on lock down. The area was secured and all students were deemed safe.

At noon, authorities dismissed students from school. Car drivers were dismissed first followed by the students whose parents came to check them out. For the parents that are picking up their child, the police department has provided directions to allow for a safe and efficient pick-up. Please come down Cedar Street along the back of the school and follow the security personnel around the south side of the cafeteria where you will pick up your child. Once your child is in the vehicle, please depart out of the east front of the school towards Highway 59. Students are welcome to remain on campus. If they choose to stay, they will remain in the cafeteria and be provided the opportunity to study. At the conclusion of school, those students who are bus riders will board their bus and depart for their home destination.

In a social media post Foley Police Chief Thurston Bullock stated "“As stated in the press conference today, we will have an increased presence at ALL Foley schools tomorrow. I want to reiterate that there were NO gunshots at Foley High School today and there was no weapon seen or recovered during our investigation."

This came just one day after the Gulf Shores schools were locked down after a nearby crime was committed.
