Chief Thurston Bullock released Annual Report to residents

Foley Police Annual Report

The Foley Police Department recently released their 2023 Annual Report. Chief Bullock details crime statistics and shows increases from 2022 versus 2023. The 40 page report also highlights new programs within the department.

In the report the Chief stated that “Calls for Service”  responded to increased from 6,868 calls in 2022 and the call volume increased to 9,086 in 2023.

He referenced the growth of the Police Department stating "Inside of the police department, we have been working diligently and creatively as staff on recruiting and retention efforts. This has been a multifaceted approach. It has been interesting and challenging to say the least as a police chief to see a pandemic, a major storm, and now a national shortage on police officers in the three and a half years that I have been in office. I continue to stand by that we do not lower our hiring standards for officers and employees, and we still have a stringent hiring process and background check. This keeps our department professional. We have also placed a lot of attention on streamlining the hiring process and our marketing strategies. We have increased and continue to add technology as well as civilian employees to our crime suppression strategies and to assist the officers on the streets."
