Gulf Shores boating news

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Marine Patrol is offering a free Boating Basics and License Course to the public, providing an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to gain or refresh essential boating skills.

The course will take place on January 29 and January 30, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each evening at the AMP Training Building, located at 27555 Larry C Kelley Lane in Orange Beach. This two-night event is free of charge, making it an accessible way for participants to meet Alabama’s boating education requirements.

The course is perfect for beginners who are new to boating or seasoned boaters looking to stay up-to-date on boating safety and regulations. Completion of the course fulfills the State of Alabama's mandatory boating education requirement for operating a vessel.

To reserve a spot, participants are encouraged to RSVP by emailing Jacob Manning at
Jacob.Manning@alea.gov.

This event is part of ALEA's ongoing efforts to promote safe and responsible boating in Alabama's waterways. It is hosted in partnership with Orange Beach Fire/Rescue and emphasizes the importance of education in ensuring safety for everyone enjoying the water.

For those looking to get ready for the boating season, this is a good opportunity to build confidence and stay safe while navigating Alabama's coastal waters. Don't miss the chance to learn essential skills and fulfill licensing requirements.
