Gulf Shores 9-0 After Demolishing Vigor

News Staff • October 28, 2023

Just one game away from undefeated regular season

Gulf Shores Football News

The Gulf Shores Dolphins jumped out to an early start by scoring 21 points in the first quarter against Vigor and never looked back. The duo of Wilson and Royal kept the offense rolling, while the defense stopped the typically fast scoring offense of Vigor.

In the first quarter Gulf Shores fans may have worried after the Vigor Wolves answered the an early touchdown. That only seemed to make the Dolphins defense more intense for the remainder of the half. The Phin's defense actually held Vigor's explosive star (RB) Benjamin to just over 50 yards.

The game was full of exciting plays from both sides of the ball and in every quarter. Gulf Shores had several long runs and passes, seemingly in-charge of 3rd downs on each drive. Each time Vigor made an error, the Dolphins Defense were quick to take advantage.

In a week of turmoil related to an story published by a local news station concerning ASHAA infractions, the chaos did not seem to disturb the players. An attorney for the Gulf Shores City School system has responded to the allegations and denied any wrongdoing.

The Gulf Shores Dolphins are just one win away from having a undefeated regular season. Their next game is against the Rain Red Raiders (6-2), on November 3rd. The game will be played in Gulf Shores.
