Canal Park Condos Gulf Shores

The Gulf Shores City Council met this week to vote on several items. After approving expense vouchers in the amount of $1,882,331 (new fire truck was within the expenses) the city council heard from Lee Jones of the City Planning Department.

Mr. Jones informed the council that Canal Park condos were seeking site plan approval of "Phase 2", which is located in the Waterway Village Overlay District at 411 East Canal Drive. He informed the council that the initial "Phase 1" had been approved earlier in the year.

Lee Jones explained that the project's first phase was approved for vacation rentals. He also stated no adjoining property owners had complained to the City's Planning Commission. He also stated the developer of the property had been very cooperative in saving the heritage trees located on the site.

After Mr. Jones reviewed the purpose of the Waterway Village purpose, he stated his department recommended approval of the changes needed for this permit. The resolution was adopted unanimously by the council.
