It was only fitting that a pod of dolphin greeted the SpaceX Dragon module when it returned to earth. The capsule slashed down safely in the new Gulf of America and like a well choreographed movie the dolphin appeared and performed for the cameras. The scene will be played throughout the world and history making it one of the most viewed splashdowns sine the Mercury project.
Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore have finally returned to Earth. The two had planned to stay just a week at the International Space Station when they launched on the first crewed flight of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft in June. Instead, they wound up staying at the orbiting lab for more than nine months.
NASA finally gave permission for Elon Musk's company, SpaceX, to save the day. The Dragon capsule was sent to the space station with two pilots and two new crew members for the ISS. They replaced the crew members after docking with the ISS and retrieved the two stranded NASA astronauts. The group of four, known as Crew-9, splashed down off Florida around 5:57 p.m. ET, ending a nine month long ordeal.
The Gulf of America and the dolphins took center stage as the world watch the live splashdown on television around the world. The bottlenose dolphins are the best ambassadors to welcome all visitors to the gulf!
