A sweet partnership but don't count the calories

Gulf Shores Food News

For those people who enjoy the McCafe at McDonalds but have to drive down the road to pair it with a Krispy Kreme doughnut, your dream has come true. McDonalds is currently testing a new partnership in 160 McDonalds locations in Kentucky. The fast food giant is offering three types of Krispy Kreme doughnuts; original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced “Kreme” filled. If the test goes well they will begin offering the sweet treats nationwide.

After the announcement was made of the partnership yesterday, shares of Krispy Kreme stock rose 39%.

There are over 13,500 McDonalds location across the country. There are several within the Gulf Shores area. There is only one Krispy Kreme located in Foley.

“By making Krispy Kreme accessible to fans nationwide through this partnership, we expect to more than double our points of access by the end of 2026,” said Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth in a statement.

The roll-out for the doughnuts at all locations may take over a year. Until that time we can all figure out our breakfast routine after leaving the gym from a morning workout.
