gulf shores weather news

Overnight a strong storm of wind and rain passed through the Gulf Shores and Baldwin County Region. High winds of gust over 65 mph were registered and damage was widespread in the county. Many residents in the area experienced a temporary power outage.

Thanks to the courageous service of local utility companies most of the power has been restored. Many reports of trees and limbs on the roads have been reported.

BALDWIN EMC reported several outages were remaining at 6am today. They posted on social media "Currently, we’re experiencing over 140 outages with more than 12,000 meters out."

A "Big Shout Out" to the WKRG Weather team of John Nodar and Caroline Carithers. They remained live on the air starting very early in the morning providing minute-by-minute updates and giving safety precautions along the way. Their efforts show why locals should tune to "Real Time" television or radio reporting when severe weather is happening along the Alabama coast.
