Just after Helene, Milton could strike Florida's West Coast

The National Weather Service updated the forecast of Hurricane Milton today. While the storm is not expected to land along the panhandle, it is targeting the Tampa region of Florida. The NWS stated that the risk of Rip Currents along the Alabama coast is high.
The National Hurricane Center said its hurricane hunters are finding Milton "rapidly intensifying" and that the storm is expected to become a major Category 4 hurricane on Monday in the Central Gulf. It is expected to become a Category 3 hurricane before making landfall across the west coast of Florida on Wednesday.
In a State of Emergency bulletin, Governor Ron DeSantis has already 51 counties to be in danger.
The waterfront area of Tampa Bay has long been regarded as among the most vulnerable major U.S. regions to hurricanes because of the storm surge threat. The region has had destructive near-misses but Milton could be the first major hurricane in more than a century to hit the region directly.
After Hurricane Sally local residents remain alert since the path of a storm is not very predictable. However, all of the major weather services show spaghetti models of Milton making landfall on the west coast of Florida.
