Nick Saban Praises Local Legend Julio Jones

Julio Jones is a legend at Foley High and Alabama Crimson Tide

There are many legends and stories about Julio Jones that are told around the Alabama coastal region. He set an athletic  and maturity standard for many lower Baldwin County high schoolers. Now that Nick Saban has retired he is sharing his thoughts about Julio and his impact on the Crimson Tide.


During an SEC Panel interview Saban commented on the "Alabama Way" and which teams were reaching for the same standards. Coach Saban commented "Julio's watching seven-on-seven. Receiver drops the ball, kicks the ball, cusses the quarterback, gets into it with the DB that was guarding him," Saban shared. "Julio called the guy over and said, 'that's not how we do it here.' He hadn't played there for ten years. But still, he understood the culture and how things got done, and I think you're right - that becomes a part of the program."

Mayor Robert Craft informed the city council of Chief Delmore’s intent during a meeting this week. While he will no longer be heading the police department, Chief Delmore will stay on the force as a special investigator until the end of his term, which ends in November.

During this period, residents can purchase essential severe weather preparedness items without paying the state's 4% sales tax. In some areas, local taxes will also be waived, allowing shoppers to save up to 10% on eligible items.
