Gulf Shores Event News

OWA Parks & Resort in Coastal Alabama is owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The park's Tropic Falls at OWA was recently voted one of the top 10 indoor water parks in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The 10Best contest recognizes excellence across various categories including hotels, resorts, restaurants, and attractions. Nominees were submitted by a panel of experts selected by USA Today and narrowed to a short list of

selections chosen by its 10Best editors.

The competition was then opened to the public, with readers voting for four weeks to choose their favorite U.S. travel destinations and attractions. "It is truly an honor to be recognized as one of the 10 Best Indoor Water Parks by our guests and readers" said Cody Williamson, President/CEO of Creek Indian Enterprises Development Authority. "We are committed to continually evolving and expanding the guest experience at OWA and are truly grateful to receive this national recognition and a sign of our guests’ appreciation.”

Tropic Falls at OWA was built for year-round tropical fun. It is the largest indoor waterpark in the region and is covered by a convertible roof of 1,800 glass panels, creating an ideal tropical escape for rain-or-shine entertainment. Guests can choose from the thrill of 11 water slides, or just enjoy the ultimate tropical relaxation floating along the Castaway Creek lazy river. Having first opened in spring 2022, Tropic Falls has now expanded its water amenities to include a new 30,000 sq ft outdoor wave pool, Big Water Bay, and Coastal Curl surf simulator adjoining the indoor water park.
