Sever weather projected for weekend outlook

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Mobile is monitoring a severe system that could threaten southwest Alabama over the weekend.
Multiple rounds of severe storms are expected Saturday through Saturday night and extending into Sunday morning.
Baldwin County is at a level Four out of Five severe weather risk. Scattered storms, tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail are possible. There is a threat of strong, long-track tornadoes as well.
The exact timing of the storms is unknown but the threat will begin around noon Saturday. Any outdoor events should be moved indoors or rescheduled.
The NWS recommends having multiple ways to receive severe weather alerts. A NOAA weather radio and cell phone apps with enabled alerts are suggested. In case of a tornado warning, it is important to seek shelter in the center of your home away from doors and windows. Because most storm injuries are related to flying objects, it is recommended to wear a helmet and a whistle during a tornado.
Have a plan before the storm to communicate with family and ensure elderly family members are aware of the threat.
