Local restoration company denied license to operate in Gulf Shores

During last week's Council Work Session the City of Gulf Shores considered the business license application of Purdy Restoration LLC. The business owner, as well as, a previous client of the business spoke to the Council about interactions they had each experienced.

On Monday at the Gulf Shores City Council meeting resolution 6740 was presented, which would deny the business a license to operate with the City limits. Brandan Franklin, Chief Building Official for Gulf Shores, restated the history of the business's interactions with the city and violations cited to Purdy Restoration over a two year period. He explained that the company had been working "outside of their roofing license" doing construction not under the purvey of the State License.


It was also mentioned that the City Code Enforcement Officer has issued "several citations" and will be in Municipal Court on November 2nd. Mr. Franklin added the the State of Alabama Home Builder Licensure Board has the company under investigation.


The Gulf Shores City Council voted unanimously for the resolution to deny the business license for Purdy Restoration LLC.
