The "Funnest" Fishing Tournament on the Gulf Coast

Gulf Shores Fishing News

The 11th Annual 2024 Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo is set to be a thrilling multi-species tournament that welcomes anglers of all skill levels to compete for exciting prizes. Held at the iconic Flora-Bama Lounge & Package on the Alabama-Florida state line, this event has become a beloved tradition on the Gulf Coast. The event takes place on June 7th and 8th at the Flora-Bama Marina.

A Celebration of Fishing and Community

The Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo (FBFR) is a unique tournament that caters to both recreational and competitive anglers. With 40 different categories, there's something for everyone, from those targeting humble catfish to those pursuing prestigious billfish.

The diverse range of species eligible for prizes ensures that anglers of all backgrounds can participate and have a chance at victory.

One of the standout features of the FBFR is its commitment to giving back to the community. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to a non-profit organization dedicated to providing well-deserved family vacations for combat veterans, making this event not just a fishing tournament but also a celebration of service and support.

A Tradition of Fun and Excitement

The Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, affectionately known as "The Bama," has been a Gulf Coast cultural landmark since its establishment in 1964.

With its laidback atmosphere, live music, and iconic frozen Bushwacker drinks, the venue provides the perfect backdrop for the FBFR's festivities.

Last year's event was a resounding success, attracting anglers from near and far to compete in the "funnest" fishing tournament on the Gulf Coast.

The excitement was palpable as participants weighed in their catches, vying for the coveted prize packages in each category.

An Event for ALL Anglers

As the 11th Annual FBFR approaches, anticipation is building among the local fishing community and beyond. With its unique blend of competition, camaraderie, and charitable spirit, this event promises to be a highlight of the summer season on the Gulf Coast.

Whether you're a seasoned angler or a newcomer to the sport, the Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo offers an unforgettable experience. Mark your calendars and prepare to join the festivities at this iconic beach bar, where the love of fishing and the spirit of community come together in a truly remarkable way.
