The National Park Service has issued an alert about Johnson Beach vehicle access. Next week they will be making road improvements to the area which will close the legendary beach area to automobiles and bicycles as well.
In a press release, the Gulf Islands National Seashore stated the work will take place on July 16th- 17th. The majority of the project is for restriping of roads and parking area.
Johnson Beach is a designated recreational area in Perdido Key on the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The location provides lifeguards, facilities and a parking lot and is ideal for water-based recreational activities and hiking. The park includes parking areas, seven accessible boardwalks, a pavilion, and a 1/2-mile bike/pedestrian trail.
