So when are you considered a Local?

Gulf Shores News

If you have lived here for more that five years are you considered LOCAL? It is common around the area to ask someone where they are originally from. On rare occasions you will hear the response "I'm Local." People then drill down on the question and ask if the person was born here. Most reply that they have lived here over (# of Years) so I must be local.

The staff of Gulf Shores News pondered the questions of how long a person needed to live in the area to be local. We decided there was no set amount of time, but more about what you do for the good of the island and other residents.

"Anyone who gives back to the area is a local"

Instead of providing a long list of deeds or local people, we made an easy test. If you pass you can get your semi-official "Local Card" to show your friends or the next tourist you meet!

Answer the questions below. CAREFUL though, your answers are scored and you need to score an 80 or better for your card :)
