Daylight Savings Time Begins Sunday, March 10th

Gulf Shores Area News

Spring is coming, and the start of longer daylight hours is well underway. With daylight saving time starting in March, most beach goers will soon have more hours in the sun and golfers can get in a full afternoon round. Daylight saving time signals the tourism season has begun for the gulf coast.

According to Wikipedia, Benjamin Franklin suggested that if Parisians could only wake up earlier in the summer they would economize on candle and oil usage, but he did not propose changing the clocks. The first nation-wide implementations were by the German and Austro-Hungarian Empires, both starting on 30 April 1916. Since then many countries have adopted the practice.

Whether we like the change or not, the TIME has come to change the clocks in your dwelling or office. Afterwards we can take in a brighter view of the paradise we call home.
