The Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission  recently awarded two Baldwin County companies the license needed to produce medical cannabis products. The companies chosen were Oscity Labs and Flowerwood Nursery. Both were granted the highly coveted "Integrated Facility" license.

Integrated Facilities are allowed the following, according to the Cannabis Commission:

An integrated facility license authorizes all of the following:

  1. The cultivation of cannabis.
  2. The processing of cannabis into medical cannabis, including proper packaging and labeling of medical cannabis products.
  3. The dispensing and sale of medical cannabis only to a registered qualified patient or registered caregiver.
  4. The transport of cannabis or medical cannabis between its facilities.
  5. The sale or transfer of medical cannabis to a dispensary.

Oscity Labs is based out of Foley, Alabama, while Flowerwood Nursery is a business of prominence in Loxley. According to the license website, each of these companies "may operate up to 5 dispensing sites."

Oscity Labs operation in Foley has already been offering CBD products in the area. Located at 428 East Section Avenue, the company has creams, gummies, gels and chocolates.

Each approved applicant had to pay an Annual License Fee: $50,000. The Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission only awarded 5 of the license with the state.
