Wednesday, February 7th-
Take a stroll down the fishing pier this Wednesday at Waterfront park in Orange Beach. Situated on the calmer side of the shores of scenic Wolf Bay. This park is open to the public year round as well as hosts many small and large events. Park goers can  find solace gliding on one of the bench swings facing the waters, often catching a glimpse of dolphin splashes or birds searching for their next bite. The pier is covered for convenience and offers a cleaning station for the lucky catches of the day. This is a great spot to have a picnic lunch, enjoy a good book, snag some nature photos or just enjoy the scene. However, if one chooses to take on this great park, make sure to take the obligatory OB oversized chair photo on the dock before heading out to share with friends.

Sunday, February 11th -
With Celebrations well underway, Sunday marks a different stride from parades to honor the late Joe Cain with Processions instead. A tradition that started in Mobile nearly 40 years ago. The difference is mostly in the name, the fun and throws are the same. There are two options to participate here locally as well as the one in Mobile. Fort Morgan will hold their Joe Cain Day Procession starting at 1 PM. For anyone wanting to continue the celebration into the evening, OWA will be hosting a parade plus party event from 1-7 PM. According to NOAA, jetties can contribute to increased drowning risks, especially due to the presence of rip currents and the potential for dangerous currents and changes in water depth near the structures. Jetties can also make it more difficult to enter and exit the water safely due to sharp rocks and the force of waves.
