Zales Outlet Targeted In Brazen Burglary

When resident typically hear about such jewel thieves it is on international news or in a movie. Now the crime is a little closer to home. The Foley Police Department is investigating a burglary that happened overnight at the Tanger Outlet Mall. An employee at Zales Outlet called the police around 8:30 a.m. Monday. They reported that jewelry had been stolen during the night. The value of the stolen items has not been released.


The break-in was discovered on the morning of Monday, June 9. Police believe the suspect entered Rock 'N Roll Sushi next door, then broke through the wall to get into the Zales store.


No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing. Officers are reviewing evidence and working to identify any suspects.

Jewel thieves who use this type of burglary procedure allow themselves more time in the premises to steal more items. Representatives from Zales or the Foley Police Department have not stated publicly the estimated value of the stolen items.
