Super Bowl Sunday is just around the corner and this year there is a new event taking place on the beach. Battle of the Bowls charity cook-off is set to delight food lovers and support local causes on February 9, from noon to 3:00 PM. This pre-Super Bowl event invites competitors and attendees to come together for an afternoon of food, music, and community spirit—all for a good cause.

The Battle of the Bowl challenges competitors to create dishes that fit the theme, “anything that can be served in a bowl.” Categories include Best Entrée, Best Dessert, People’s Choice, Best Use of Hall’s Sausage, and the uniquely named “Thinking Out of the Bowl,” rewarding the most creative dish. With cash prizes at stake, chefs and home cooks alike are encouraged to bring their A-game.

Tickets for the event are just $25, granting attendees unlimited tastings of the culinary creations on offer. Competitors pay a $100 registration fee and must provide enough for at least 150 sample sizes or approximately three gallons of their dish. Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities, ensuring that every bite supports a greater good.

Battle Bowl 2025 also offers businesses and individuals a chance to contribute through sponsorships, starting at $150. Sponsorship levels include perks such as promotional signage, booth space, mentions during the event, and more. Top-tier sponsors, such as Presenting and Beverage Sponsors, gain exclusive benefits like event-wide recognition and branding opportunities.

Event organizer Penny Hughey, Director of Community Development, emphasizes the importance of collaboration in making the event a success. “The Battle of the Bowl is a celebration of food, community, and generosity,” Hughey said. “We encourage everyone to participate, whether by cooking, attending, or sponsoring.”

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to fill your belly and fuel a cause. To secure your spot as a competitor or sponsor, contact Penny Hughey at pennyphughey@gmail.com or 423-595-6568. Individual entry tickets can be purchased at the event.

With delicious food, live entertainment, and the chance to make a difference, Battle of the Bowl 2025 promises to kick off Super Bowl Sunday with style.
