Gulf Shores Christmas News

Looking to skip the kitchen stress on Christmas Day? There are a few options available on Christmas Day for dinner. This year, more restaurants have opted to close on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to give their employees more family time during this holiday season. There are pre-cooked meals available at local grocery stores like Rouse's and Publix. Also we have found a few last minute spots you may want to consider.

SUNLINER DINER
Sunliner Diner in Gulf Shores will be open from 8:00am until 8:00pm on Christmas Day serving from their regular menu. Located in the heart of Gulf Shores and only a few blocks off the beach, the restaurant is known for it's "All Day Breakfast" menu. They also have a wide variety of diner specials after 11am.

BUBBA’S SEAFOOD HOUSE
Let Bubba's take care of the Christmas Eve & Christmas Day meals! They will be open from 11AM - 'til it's gone on both days. Bubba's is located in Orange Beach on Perdido Beach Blvd.. Bubba’s shrimp po’boys, fresh fish, and juicy steamed crab legs are absolute favorites around here. Many of the locals and visitors order our large “build-your-own” seafood platter. They will be serving up Christmas Specials plus their full menu will be available. Call to make your reservations 251-974-1800.

ROUSES MARKET

Rouses Markets offers a variety of holiday catering options to suit different group sizes and preferences. Their Heat & Eat Traditional Dinners include choices such as Cajun Turkey, Oven Roasted Turkey, Spiral Ham, and Turkey Breast, each accompanied by sides like cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry orange relish, and dinner rolls. These meals are fully cooked and require 1 to 2 hours of reheating, with instructions provided. Additionally, Boar’s Head Ham Dinners are available in small (serving 3-4) and large (serving 6-8) sizes, featuring similar side dishes. For those interested in à la carte options, Rouses provides a selection of sides by the pound, including sweet potato casserole with oat crumble, macaroni and cheese, and spinach Madeline. Main dishes such as oven-roasted turkey, Cajun turkey, and spiral ham can also be ordered separately.

FLORA-BAMA LOUNGE AND OYSTER BAR

Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Christmas is a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate. The Flora-Bama wants you #OnTheLine to eat, drink and be merry for its traditional Christmas Potluck Dinner! The turkey and ham will be provided by the Flora-Bama, and we encourage our patrons to bring a covered dish to share - because that’s what Christmas is all about. Beginning at 12pm on Christmas Day, patrons are encouraged to bring a covered dish as we will begin serving at 1PM. Live music will be playing all around the bar to help spread Christmas cheer for all to hear.

WAFFLE HOUSE
If all else fails, the Waffle Houses along the Gulf Coast will be open on Christmas Day, serving from their regular menu. While many businesses shut down on Christmas, Waffle House keeps its doors open 365 days a year. The management of Waffle House states "Customers who go to Waffle House can expect to be greeted with a smile and a “good morning” and leave with a full stomach and the wish for a “merry Christmas.”
