Two for the win Monday with Zoe Burdett for the beats and GT’s on the Bay for dinner with a view. Burdett, born and raised in the shadows of the shoals area surrounded by world-renowned recording studios, starting performing at the mere age of three years old. She quickly discovered that her love for the coastal lifestyle and close-knit community motivated her to broaden her horizons and pursue her artistic dreams and shift gears set for the redneck riviera. Now residing in the Orange Beach area, music lovers can catch her around town throughout the year. Enjoy the sights and sounds on the back deck of the hidden gem GT’s with Burdett from 5PM-9PM. Sit back and take in the relaxing atmosphere while taking a turn to the salad bar or enjoy a number of top choice appetizers, between the buns and of course tasty seafood dishes, stick around for sunset and bring the kids to play in the sand outback and climb aboard the pirate ship while the adults enjoy on the deck.

Crafts are a great way for children and families to get together and bond and have something special to take away as a treasure. But, did you know that they are also helpful in many other cognitive ways, sand art for example? Colored sand activities, like most crafts, promote creativity and independence and can also help improve children’s motor skills, concentration abilities and decision-making. This week’s craft at the Orange Beach Public Library is sand art made into necklaces. After choosing their designs for the necklaces they will learn color mixing, develop reasoning skills and work on their hand-eye coordination while meticulously adding one bit at a time to come up with their best look for a special treasure to take home and enjoy. This fun event for all ages is free and will take place from 10:30AM- 1:30PM. Participants are encouraged to stay a while and check out some new books or hang around and read them there.
