Orange Beach Planning Commission To Review

New Gulf Shores Restaurants

A Sunliner Diner may be coming to Orange Beach. Lieb Engineering is seeking site-plan approval to build a new diner at 26035 Perdido Beach Boulevard across the street from the Tide's Best Western.

The agenda for the June 10 meeting of the Orange Beach Planning Commission says Lieb will make the request for an entity called Cotton Bayou Holdings. According to business records from the Alabama Secretary of State’s office, Mark Chaffins is the registered agent for the company and his LinkedIn profile says he is the CEO of Hangout Holdings. Mark Taupeka is listed as the business organizer for Cotton Bayou Holdings and he has a law office in Orange Beach.

There are two other Sunliner Diners, one in Gulf Shores and one in Pigeon Forge, both operated by Hangout Hospitality. Other holdings in the area include the Surf Style and Trading Co. beach stores and restaurants The Gulf, Picnic Beach, Zeke’s, Burro Azul and The Hangout. There is another Gulf Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach.

Zislin’s group also owns a condo building called Gulf Place just west of the Hangout.

Texts asking Zislin for comment have not been returned.
