Easter Services In Gulf Shores

As Easter approaches, communities along the Alabama Gulf Coast are preparing to commemorate Holy Week with various celebrations, from traditional church services to family-friendly Easter egg hunts. Below is a guide to the Easter services scheduled in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and surrounding areas.

 

CHURCH AT THE FLORA-BAMA

The beachside church will have a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. and services on Easter Sunday at 6:30 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.. Full list of Worship on the Water is HERE

 

GULF SHORES METHODIST CHURCH

Three services are planned for Easter Sunday, including a 6 a.m. sunrise service at The Lodge at Gulf State Park. A contemporary service will be at 9 a.m. in the auditorium and a traditional service at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary.


FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF GULF SHORES

Easter Sunday services with worship celebrations at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., Impact Worship at 9: 30 a.m. and Bible fellowship also at 9:30 a.m.


OUR LADY OF THE GULF CATHOLIC CHURCH

Our Lady of the Gulf will have services on Palm Sunday at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. And, on Maundy Thursday will have the mass of the Last Supper at 6 p.m. and The Last Seven Words of Christ service at noon on Good Friday, stations of the cross at 3 p.m. and a Veneration of the Cross at 6 p.m.


GULF SHORES FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Several Easter activities are planned including a community Easter egg at 10 a.m. on March 23 followed by a Palm Sunday worship at 11 a.m., a Maundy Thursday service at 6 p.m. and the Last Seven Words of Christ and Good Friday service at noon. Easter Sunday the church will have a 6:30 a.m. sunrise service at the Gulf State Park Pavilion and 11 a.m.


ORANGE BEACH METHODIST CHURCH

The Easter celebration will begin on March 24 with a Palm Sunday service at 9 a.m. and continue with Maundy Thursday communion at 11:30 a.m., on Good Friday with a Tenebrae service at 6:30 p.m. An Easter Sunday service at 9 a.m. to be followed by an Easter Egg hunt at 10 a.m.

 

ORANGE BEACH COMMUNITY CHURCH & OASIS CHURCH AT THE WHARF

Easter at the Park returns on March 23 at 10 a.m. at Waterfront Park. The church will also have a Good Friday sunset service at 6:30 p.m. behind the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach and The Orange Beach Community Church will have an Easter Sunday celebration at 10:30 a.m. The Oasis Church at the Wharf Easter service will be at 10 AM Easter Sunday.

 

CENTRAL CHURCH ORANGE BEACH

Central Church will start the celebration on Good Friday with a service in the San Roc Cay courtyard at 6:30 p.m. Three services are planned for Easter Sunday including services at 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at The Gulf restaurant. Following the service there will be an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

 

CHURCH AT THE SHORES

This church on Cotton Creek Drive will have a Good Friday Service at 6 p.m. and services on Easter Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

 

ST. JUDES BY THE SEA LUTHERAN CHURCH

A full week is planned with Palm Sunday services at 9 a.m., Maundy Thursday and Good Friday at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

 

FORWARD CHURCH

The church will have its second annual Easter Egg Hunt at Bleu’s Burgers in Gulf Shores on March 24 at 5:30 p.m.

 

HOLY SPIRIT EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Holy Spirit will have a Holy Eucharist service on Easter Sunday at 10:30 a.m. followed by an Easter egg hunt.

 

GRACE LUTHERAN GULF SHORES

Grace will kick off its Easter celebration with a Maundy Thursday worship at 4 p.m., Good Friday worship at 4 p.m., a free Easter brunch at 8:30 a.m. and an Easter worship service at 10 a.m.

 

CANAL ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH

This church will have its Easter Sunday resurrection celebration at 10 a.m.

 

THE ISLAND CHURCH

The Wharf will be the host for an Easter egg hunt presented by the Island Church on March 30 at 11 a.m. It’s free to attend buy some activities will cost $5-$10.

Protesters showed up on Thursday at the Foley Civic Center as U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) spoke at a Chamber of Commerce event. The Baldwin County Democratic Party protested President Donald Trump, Moore, and conservative policies, while the Baldwin County Republican Party rallied in support of Moore. In all, about 100 people faced off, holding signs and chanting.

Locals and tourists alike have asked the local governments to clearly define the rules so the beaches are not overrun with businesses taking up premium spots on the sand.
