Baldwin County is closing offices and courts during the storm

Baldwin County Alabama News

Numerous businesses and city offices have announced temporary closures during the week. Anticipating severe winter weather, the Baldwin County Commission has announced the closure of all county-maintained facilities, including courthouses, on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22. These facilities are expected to reopen during regular business hours on Thursday, January 23, depending on weather conditions.

The Baldwin County Commission meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, has been postponed to Tuesday, January 28, at the Fairhope Satellite Courthouse.

Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to avoid travel during this period. Icy conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses, can make travel hazardous. The Baldwin County Highway Department is actively monitoring road conditions and will apply sand as needed to improve safety.

The Baldwin County Commission advises everyone to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency for the latest weather information and road conditions.
