The City of Gulf Shores is gearing up for the holiday season with a full array of festive events for families of all ages. From pictures with Santa and holiday treats to the Baldwin Pops Holiday Concert and Movies at Meyer Park, there's something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas in Gulf Shores.

Community Christmas at Sims Park

The Baldwin Pops Holiday Concert

Erie H. Meyer Civic Center

On December 6, the City of Gulf Shores will open its doors to host the Baldwin Pops for a traditional Christmas Concert. The Baldwin Pops is an organization of volunteer musicians whose mission is to share music in a concert band format free of charge to the citizens of Baldwin County. 

Movies at Meyer Park - Christmas Edition

As part of our Movies at Meyer Park series, we will be showing a Christmas movie during the month of December. We encourage locals and visitors to bring a blanket, lawn chair, friends, and family and join us for a free Christmas movie under the stars!

Breakfast with Santa

Erie H. Meyer Civic Center

Children will have one last-minute chance to visit with Santa on as Gulf Shores hosts Breakfast with Santa at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center.

A Coastal Celebration - Beautification Board Award

Judging takes place December 7, 8, and 9

The Beautification Board of the City of Gulf Shores encourages residents and commercial properties to enhance their properties for "A Coastal Celebration."  Winning entries may display the Beautification Award on the recognized property and a picture of the owners and property is posted on the City of Gulf Shores Website.

Adult Christmas Card Making Class

The Annual Fort Morgan Oyster Fest is set to take place this weekend, February 22nd & 23rd at The Beach Club Resort & Spa. The event features all-you-can-eat oysters, live music, craft vendors, and various activities for attendees; including a larger kids area. This year's festival features several improvements, including daily ticket caps to control crowds and prevent long lines.

After 15 years of dedicated service, Gulf Shores Police Chief Ed Delmore has announced his retirement. Mayor Robert Craft informed the city council of Chief Delmore’s intent during a meeting this week. While he will no longer be heading the police department, Chief Delmore will stay on the force as a special investigator until the end of his term, which ends in November.

Alabama's 14th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is set for Friday, February 21, through Sunday, February 23, 2025. During this period, residents can purchase essential severe weather preparedness items without paying the state's 4% sales tax. In some areas, local taxes will also be waived, allowing shoppers to save up to 10% on eligible items.
