Gulf Shores Palooza in the Park Is July 12th

Water Balloons, Face Painting, Live Music and More

The Gulf Shores Recreation Department will host its first Palooza in the Park on Friday, July 12th. The event is part of the National Parks & Recreation Month celebrations.

The event is scheduled to take place at Meyer Park in Gulf Shores from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Attendees will be entertained with live music by the Smokey Otis Band. The Smokey Otis Band plays a variety of music styles, including classic country, retro rhythm and blues, rock, and soul. They are known for their eclectic performances that cater to a wide range of musical tastes, ensuring a lively and entertaining experience for their audience.

Food will be available from the Beachin' Eats Food Truck. The event also features Kidzapalooza with games, face painting, flower planter craft, and a water balloon toss.

The 'Need to know' Items of Mullet Toss Weekend

In less than a week the fish will be flying and the world famous Flora-Bama will be hosting it's annual Interstate Mullet Toss. The event has been featured on national television news, international news and has even been an answer on Jeopardy. Now it is once again time to step onto the circle and throw a fish across the line for charity. Fort Morgan Land Donation Expands Coastal Protection

Conservation efforts on Alabama’s Gulf Coast have taken another major step forward with the protection of additional land on the Fort Morgan Peninsula. Thanks to a donation from the Alabama Coastal Heritage Trust, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) will permanently preserve 13 ecologically sensitive lots, safeguarding critical habitats from future development.
