The Hitting the Note Scholarship Gala, benefitting the Joe Gilchrist Music Fund, is set to take place on Saturday, July 20th at the Perdido Beach Resort. This event’s purpose is to raise funds and provide scholarships for students in Alabama who are pursuing careers in music.
Live music is such an integral part of this community. Joe Gilchrist, a long time owner of the Flora-Bama, recognized the value of local musicians and they need to cherish music education for the youth in the coastal region. His foundation celebrates the music lovers on the island and provides students a financial path to achieve their dreams.
