The property at 600 Gulf Shores Parkway, has sat empty for quite a long time, but now a nationally franchised operation will bring it back to life. Parlor Doughnut recently announced they would be moving into the old Pizza Hut location in downtown Gulf Shores.

Parlor Doughnuts is based in Evansville, Indiana. They currently have operations in 15 states, including California and the Midwest. Parlor's company mission statement reveals they are a "craft doughnut and coffee shop offering an array of unique bakery items, including our original layered doughnuts; vegan, gluten-friendly, and keto-friendly products; artisanal breakfasts; and specialty coffee".

According to public announcements by the franchise owner, Michael Bush, they are expecting to open in January of 2024.
