"Nunsense" Is Happening In Gulf Shores

Shows nightly Tuesdays through Saturdays, matinees on Sundays

SummerTide Theatre, the University of Alabama’s professional theatre, will spend its 20th year with performances of Nunsense at the South Baldwin Community Theater through June 30.


The curtain will rise Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at SummerTide.org or by calling 251-968-6721. All tickets are $25.


Summertide has presented hits such as Ring of Fire, Smoke on the Mountain, and The Marvelous Wonderettes. Nunsense is directed by SummerTide alumnus Stacy Alley and is appropriate for audiences of all ages.


The University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance (UA Theatre and Dance) became a unified department in 1979. For the past 40 years, UA Theatre and Dance has produced student and faculty-directed, performed, and designed work.

Oyster Fest In Fort Morgan Is A Pearl In Community Events

The Annual Fort Morgan Oyster Fest is set to take place this weekend, February 22nd & 23rd at The Beach Club Resort & Spa. Gulf Shores Police Chief Announces Retirement

After 15 years of dedicated service, Gulf Shores Police Chief Ed Delmore has announced his retirement. Mayor Robert Craft informed the city council of Chief Delmore’s intent during a meeting this week. While he will no longer be heading the police department, Chief Delmore will stay on the force as a special investigator until the end of his term, which ends in November.

Alabama's 14th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is set for Friday, February 21, through Sunday, February 23, 2025. During this period, residents can purchase essential severe weather preparedness items without paying the state's 4% sales tax. In some areas, local taxes will also be waived, allowing shoppers to save up to 10% on eligible items.
