From Fort Morgan to the Wharf, coastal food fests this weekend

Gulf Shores Oyster Festival in news

The weather is forecasted to be 71° and sunny this Saturday. Perfect for a coastal style food festival. This weekend we have two legendary events that are sure to make a seafood lover's mouth water.

First, there is the Fort Morgan Oyster Festival sponsored by Spectrum Resorts. All-You-Can-Eat Oysters and More

The annual Oyster Festival, a popular event for oyster enthusiasts, is returning with its signature all-you-can-eat oyster offering. Attendees can indulge in an unlimited supply of oysters, included in the price of admission, along with a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The festival also provides a range of non-seafood options for those who may not want oysters. In addition to the food offerings, guests can purchase alcoholic beverages separately.

This year marks the introduction of two new ticket categories to accommodate different visitor preferences. The VIP Tickets, offering early access and additional exclusive benefits, cater to those seeking a more premium experience. Alternatively, Late Entry Tickets are now available, providing a cost-effective option for guests who prefer attending the event during its later stages. These changes reflect the festival's ongoing commitment to enhancing the visitor experience and accessibility.

Entertainment and Activities

Apart from the culinary delights, the festival will feature live music with bands performing throughout the day. Over 40 Alabama-based arts and crafts vendors will be present, providing a great opportunity for attendees to browse and shop. The event also includes fun games, contests, and activities for children, making it a family-friendly event. One of the highlights is the Oyster Shucking Contest, inviting attendees to showcase their skills.

Next, The 32nd Annual Orange Beach Seafood Festival and MAAAC Car Show is set to take place at The Wharf on February 24th. This popular event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be extended until 5 p.m. this year with additional activities at Marlin Circle, including the Mystics Mardi Gras group's Jeep Drawdown and live music.

Car enthusiasts can register their vehicles for the show at the MAAAC
website, with a registration fee of $75. This year's event introduces a new Jeep Category, and over 10 trophies are up for grabs. The car show serves as a significant fundraiser for the Makos Academics Arts & Athletics Club (MAAAC), directly supporting Orange Beach City Schools.

In addition to the car show, attendees have a chance to win a Jeep Wrangler. The Mystics’ Jeep Drawdown offers entries at $100 each, with a limit of 1,000 tickets available. These can be purchased on the Mystic of Pleasure's
website.

The festival, attracting over 15,000 visitors annually, promises a day filled with seafood, cars, and entertainment. For more information, visit the
official event page.
