 The City of Gulf Shores is excited to announce the opening of the highly anticipated “Music at Meyer Park” concert series. This vibrant initiative aims to enhance the local cultural scene by providing free open-air entertainment and refreshments served by local vendors. Festivities will begin at 5:30 PM, while guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to find a comfortable spot to enjoy though seating is not required. Friday, March 14th -
 Orange Beach Invasion is returning for its 9th year on Alabama's beautiful Gulf Coast during Spring Break. The event will take place at The Wharf, which is also home to the Orange Beach Billfish Classic and features one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the Southeast, standing at 112 feet. This exciting event is organized by the dynamic partnership of Lauren Miller from Scrapin’ the Coast and Robbie Bryant from Keg Media, Tailgate and Tallboys MAXXED, along with Lifted Truck Nats. The dedicated team of show promoters collaborate to create an unparalleled experience. Last year, the event attracted over 75,000 enthusiastic attendees, and there is hope for an even larger turnout in 2025.  The Special Operations Warrior Foundation honors the sacrifices of Special Operations personnel and their families by providing educational support for brighter futures. For eleven years, Flora-Bama has partnered with the POW Foundation to host the annual 'American Warriors' Beach Run/Walk. Participants can enjoy stunning Gulf views as they race along the white sandy shores, with the 5K runners heading into Alabama and half-marathoners crossing into Florida. During the off-season, lifeguards underwent rigorous training both in the classroom and in the water. New recruits completed an intensive 48-hour USLA training course, while returning lifeguards refreshed their skills with a 16-hour refresher course—all while training in the Gulf and local pools.

Volunteers play a crucial role in this mission by patrolling beaches, educating the public and school groups, conducting late-night nest observations, and assisting with supply and equipment preparations.
