One Person Injured in Foley Shooting

News in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Update from Foley Police: At around 12:15 Friday afternoon, the Foley Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 800 block of East Verbena Ave.

Upon arrival, officers found an individual with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injury.

During the initial response an officer was diverted to a male subject with a gun that was on foot a few blocks from the shooting scene and the subject ran from the officer. Foley Police along with Baldwin County S.O. and Gulf Shores P.D. searched the 500 block of South Pecan and could not locate the subject.

We do believe both situations are related. The Foley Police Department has reason to believe that the shooter and the victim know one another and this was not a random incident.

This is still an ongoing investigation. If you have any information about the shooting, please reach out to the Foley Police Department at (251 )943-4431 or you can send in a tip via our app, the Foley Police Department.
