Ducky Race at OWA Benefits Ronald McDonald House

Event News in Gulf Shores

Thousands of rubber ducks will race across OWA Parks & Resort's lake on March 23. This event, part of the Ronald McDonald House Rubber Ducky Regatta, aims to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House of Charities of Mobile. The organization offers a comforting place for families of seriously ill children undergoing treatment.

The top three ducks will earn their owners fantastic prizes, including OWA season passes, with packages worth up to $2,000. Even the slowest duck will get recognition and two Tropic Falls tickets for 2024.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m., featuring various family-friendly activities like a bouncy house, arts and crafts, lawn games, and more. A free train ride around Downtown OWA is available, leading up to a Karaoke Challenge and a Family Feud-style game between Ronald McDonald House and OWA teams. The event concludes with a live music performance by Tyra Madison.

Duck adoptions start at 10 a.m. at OWA, with the race kicking off at 1 p.m. Adopting a duck supports the Ronald McDonald House's mission to keep families close during challenging times.
