Snowbird Season has expanded in Gulf Shores

gulf shores snowbird news

The Sunliner Diner will be hosting a meeting this December, for the snowbird leaders in the area. What use to be a small group of northern people escaping the season cold has become a well organized following that give back to the community. The Gulf Shores area snowbirds are known for their love of the beach and participating in local events.

As the season begins the Director of Marketing for the Sunliner Diner's management group stated "We’re excited to invite them for a special planning session at Sunliner Diner in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on December 17th. They can enjoy a complimentary breakfast while we chat about how Sunliner Diner can be the ideal spot for your snowbird group’s gatherings, all in our charming 1950s diner setting."

Each year the snowbird season has become longer and had more participation in Gulf Shores. Most temporary transplants says it's due to the climate, reduced rental cost and special events during the season.

The typical snowbird use to be categorized as "retirees", but now can also include people with flexible work schedules who can "work from anywhere." The later has greatly impacted the length of the season and the amount of visitors until the end of February.

As we celebrate the Holiday Season, don't forget to welcome the Snowbird Season ahead.
