Monday, February 3rd -
Albert Einstein, often referred to as "the father of modern physics," famously said, “The only source of knowledge is experience.” He also remarked, “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” If you've ever been curious about Einstein's theory of relativity or the early life of the 1921 Nobel Prize winner, the live-action play "Einstein" might be just what you're looking for. The play begins by exploring the ups and downs of young Einstein's life and follows the journey of this resilient genius through space and time. While much of history remembers Einstein for his brilliance, many also recall his grand gestures emphasizing the importance of imagination for achieving great success, which he believed to be more valuable than knowledge. As he stated, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Don’t miss the chance to see this unforgettable show! Snag your tickets by visiting the link below and begin to imagine the possibilities it could bring.

Tuesday, February 4th -
During the winter months, many northern travelers, known as "snowbirds," migrate to the warm Gulf Coast to find refuge from the cold. This seasonal journey has become an essential part of the coastal market, as these snowbirds enrich the communities they temporarily call home. To honor this seasonal phenomenon, the community comes together each year for a festival that celebrates the joy of their winter stays. The dynamic event is more than just a festival; it’s a thrilling blend of a trade show and a car show, packed with unforgettable moments for snowbirds. Every year brings a fresh lineup of exciting attractions, including the RV, Health & Fitness, and Boating Expos. Take part in captivating raffles, spectacular shows, mouthwatering local cuisine, vibrant art, irresistible retail sales, and exciting games. All of this unfolds against the backdrop of the stunning coastal scenery, where you can soak up the warmth of the sun and impeccable southern hospitality. Don’t miss out on the adventure at the FREE Snowbird Fest. Registration below.

There may be no beans on the menu at Tacky Jacks, but one can still enjoy a “Beano”-style evening. Every Wednesday the Orange Beach location features wacky games and prizes during Bingo night. Join the fun starting at 6 PM, where participants can play to win while enjoying bar or table service until 9 PM. If you prefer skipping the game of chance for an evening of song and dance, head over to Gulf Shores location to shout it out for open mic night, where you can showcase your voice, instrument, or both from 5 PM to 9 PM. Fun fact: the original game of “Beano” launched in the United States in 1929, where a player from the audience shouted out the wrong name, thus inspiring an American entrepreneur to rename the game “Bingo.” So shout on players you never know the longevity of the inspiration that may come of it.

It's the perfect time of year for oysters, but then again, when isn't it? Raw, steamed, grilled, or fried, these delectable treats have been pleasing palates for many years. Oysters are rich in zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and selenium, making them an excellent choice for a nutritious snack you can count on. In the past, it was believed that oysters were only safe for mass consumption during the months with the letter “R” in them. This guideline was established not just due to outdoor temperatures but rather due to limited cooling methods once brought into households and restaurants. However, with modern refrigeration available everywhere, we can now enjoy oysters year-round, hooray. However, for those who prefer to adhere to the traditional cautionary tale, you're in luck. The months with an “R” are here. Mike’s Seafood in Gulf Shores offers a delightful selection of oysters, open seven days a week with daily specials. You can choose from steamed, Parmesan-baked, or shucked oysters prepared just the way you like them. Stop by for lunch or dinner at one of the Gulf’s most beloved seafood joints, serving the community since 1987.

Books are not just a source of fascinating or essential information; they are the key to unlocking our imagination. The knowledge gained from books can range from intriguing to painful, covering a wide spectrum of human experience. Unlike films, the tangible pages of a book draw you in, whether the content is educational or fantastical. These pages transform the mundane into the vast, turning a plain canvas into a colorful masterpiece. Don't miss the opportunity to explore various genres at the Foley Public Library book sale to add to your collection of literature. The sale is open to the public on Friday and Saturday, starting at 9 AM, and takes place at the Foley Civic Center, which offers ample browsing space. Join the hosts, Friends of the Foley Library for this two-day event. If you can’t make it during the weekend, consider visiting on Thursday from 1 PM to 4 PM to become a member and enjoy early access to the aisles before the sale opens to the public.
