Two Great Ways To Support Local First Responders

News Staff • July 18, 2024

Local 1st Responder Organizations

Gulf Shores News

During the busy and hot months of summer local first responders diligently maintain protection and life saving duties for the community residents and tourist alike. Imagine fighting a fire with the weight of the required gear. What about patrolling the beach while having a heavy bullet-proof vest. The lifeguards jump into action even if a rip current is active to save the life of a swimmer.

All of the first responders have a hectic and tough job supporting the needs of the community. There is a way we can provide support for them as well. The Associations of the first responders give their members additional funding so they may do more community service.

Think about the "Shop with a Cop" program at Christmas. Providing fire fighters with equipment bags do they can carry necessary equipment in case they are called to duty wile in the personal vehicles. The teddy bears and stuffed dogs they provide children who are involved in a tragic event.  All of these items are supported by two great organizations.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Gulf Shores Fire/Rescue Association - You can purchase a unique tee shirt from the collection online HERE. They also have an upcoming golf tournament on September 20th at Craft Farms. You can register or sponsor a team HERE.

Gulf Shores Police Association - A very popular program is to buy a stuffed "look-a-like" K9 dog which is available HERE. There is also a page so you can donate to the "Shop with a Cop" program HERE

These associations are a special way of saying "Thanks" to the community's first responders and support their community outreach programs.
