Tuesday, January 7th - Tacky Jacks Wacky Winter of Fun is whirling in full swing. This week’s Art al Fresco features neat designs with an “Upcycled Scarf Braided Bracelet." The cost is $25 and includes a $10 Tacky Jacks lunch gift card, and all supplies needed for the take home bracelet. Participants will learn the special techniques of jewelry making with Tibetan closures, using scarves and weaving for the finished look. Have an old scarf at home or maybe a favorite you're just ready to retire but not let go, bring it and weave your own into the design as a keepsake or gift. Wednesday, January 8th - Join in the next exciting series hosted by the Gulf State Park introducing Rock Solid Wednesdays. Did you know treasure lies beneath us in the earth's most beautiful way, with its natural resources? Throughout these excavations, participants will have hands-on explorations learning about minerals and how to easily identify them. Everyone is encouraged to bring along any rocks or minerals they have found on their own adventures for identification and information from the experts. Geologists use certain tests to discover any mystery specimens that will be on sight as well to aid in the discoveries. This program and most meet ups will be at the Nature Center. If you love science and nature, this is the series for you where topics from geology to meteorology, paleontology and topographic maps will be on the discussion panel. Every Wednesday for a limited time from 1-4PM, registration is not required, just preferred for this free and fun program.

Friday, January 10th - Sugarcane Jane, a name made famous by an Americano husband and wife duo based out of Alabama, is coming to a stage near you. The pair have quite the following, bringing unique sounds through kick drum, harmonica and often acoustic sets, giving them a vibe not similar to others. Rooted in folk-rock they draw somewhat of a laid-back crowd seeking that campfire home front outdoor under the stars showing even when indoors. Saturday, January 11th - Some people do spring-cleaning and others do a January wipe out with the old move and start decluttering early. Many props to the world of technology and all it brings to the home, office and beyond however as we all know, it’s ever-changing making much of the clutter that of the electric side. From an island seeping in light foot impacts it makes sense for Coastal Alabama to offer a way to safely discard these items with an e-cycling shred day. The event comes at a cost of only $30 for CRT television drop-offs and all other items free to dispose of with a few rules for this annual event. Each vehicle at that cost or otherwise is limited to 50 pounds, no batteries or taped/tied boxes are allowed ensuring proper care can be taken with each item in full view or easily accessible view. Vehicles will begin being accepted around 8AM polishing off at noon. Upon arrival, Junior Leadership Coastal Alabama students will be available volunteers to assist with heavy items and any questions, and may accept optional cash tips to benefit the program.

Sunday, January 12th - CoastAL Orange Beach invites patrons to enjoy a beachfront Sunday morning breakfast starting at 8:00 AM.
