Next Full Moon Paddle in Orange Beach

Kayaking news in gulf shores area

The City of Orange Beach Wind & Water Learning Center will hold its second Full Moon Paddle of the summer on Sunday, July 21st. The event starts with dinner at 6:15 p.m., provided by a local restaurant, and includes live music entertainment.


Participants will paddle across Wolf Bay at 7 p.m. The July 21st event will feature food from Tacky Jacks and music by Rachel Lane. Registration for the Full Moon Paddle is available on Eventbrite for $35 per person.


All proceeds from the event will go to the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center. The last Full Moon Paddle of the season is scheduled for Sunday, August 18. The Wind & Water Learning Center is located at 26267 Canal Road, behind the Orange Beach Public Library.

Participants must bring their own kayak, PFD & white light. A limited number of kayaks are available for rent from the venue for an additional fee. Rental must be reserved in advance of the event.

The event features all-you-can-eat oysters, live music, craft vendors, and various activities for attendees; including a larger kids area. Mayor Robert Craft informed the city council of Chief Delmore’s intent during a meeting this week. While he will no longer be heading the police department, Chief Delmore will stay on the force as a special investigator until the end of his term, which ends in November.

During this period, residents can purchase essential severe weather preparedness items without paying the state's 4% sales tax.
