Balloon Fest is May 4th - May 6th, 2023

If you are looking for a unique and exciting experience this spring, look no further than the 19th annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival! This three-day event, held from May 4th to May 6th, 2023, is a family-friendly festival that features over 50 hot air balloons from across the country. Located in Foley, Alabama, at the OWA Parks & Resort, this festival is a perfect opportunity to spend a weekend filled with adventure, entertainment, and unforgettable memories.

The Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival kicks off on Thursday, May 4th, from 5p-9p, with a balloon glow that is sure to take your breath away (wind and weather permitting). The festival also features live entertainment, vendors, and various activities for all ages. The fun continues on Friday and Saturday, May 5th and 6th, from 11a-10p, with a plethora of exciting events planned throughout the day and into the evening.

One of the main attractions of the festival is, of course, the hot air balloons. More than 50 balloons and pilots will be participating in the festival, with balloons flying at dawn and dusk each day (wind and weather permitting). Whether you want to see the balloons soaring majestically through the skies or get up close and personal with them, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the magic of hot air balloons at the festival.

If you want to take your experience to the next level, consider purchasing a ticket for a tethered balloon ride. These rides take passengers up in the air about 45-50 feet and provide a unique perspective on the festival grounds and surrounding area. The balloons are tied to the ground using ropes, and passengers are allowed to meet the pilot and learn about the balloon's mechanics. Keep in mind that these rides are weather dependent, so we recommend arriving at least two hours prior to sunset (around 5:00 pm) to ensure you have the best chance of experiencing a ride. You can purchase tethered balloon rides, VIP passes, and parking on the festival website.

In addition to the hot air balloons, the festival has plenty of activities for all ages. With free admission to the festival, guests can enjoy live music, artisan and food vendors, and traditional festival activities. OWA Parks & Resort provides an excellent variety of entertainment attractions and amenities, including themed amusement parks with more than 20 rides and attractions. With various restaurants and unique retail shopping choices, there is plenty to keep you entertained throughout the weekend.

It is important to note that while there may be other ticket vendors offering tickets to the festival, you should only purchase your tickets from the official festival website. Be aware of scam offers, and if you have any doubts, contact the festival organizers directly at 251.943.5550 or 251.943.5590.

Tickets for tethered balloon rides, VIP passes, and parking can be purchased online here: https://gulfcoastballoonfestival.com/

In conclusion, the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival is a magical and fun-filled event that should not be missed. With over 50 hot air balloons, live entertainment, and activities for all ages, this festival is a perfect opportunity to spend a weekend filled with adventure, excitement, and unforgettable memories. Make sure to mark your calendar for May 4th - 6th, 2023, and get ready for a weekend you will never forget!
