On October 7th, the Flora-Bama will host members of the United States Army Ranger Association in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the battle of Mogadishu. Rangers past and present will honor those that fought and died by running and walking 1-mile in the sand on the beaches of Flora-Bama. This event is often referred to as the MOG Mile. The Mogadishu Mile refers to the route used by the Rangers and Delta Force soldiers during the "Black Hawk Down" incident.
